My name is Núria Carrasco Piñana, and I am a textile artist and creative facilitator.

From a very young age, I was fascinated by beautiful things. I wanted to create beautiful things. Years later, that curiosity led me to train in printmaking and artistic dyeing at La Llotja School of Art and Design. There, I discovered batik, silk painting and traditional printmaking techniques that require focus and patience.

Later, I delved deeper into illustration, bringing a contemporary perspective to traditional techniques that have been passed down through cultures and generations. But my journey wasn’t solely artistic. I also studied Tourism at Rovira i Virgili University, which allowed me to explore my fascination with foreign cultures and my social side, as well as enabling me to speak other languages. Years later, my training in Gestalt therapy brought everything together. I came to understand that creating is not just about producing something beautiful; it is an act of awareness, a way of loving oneself, of being there for oneself and of feeling at home.

Batik—one of the techniques I work with most—allows you to harness the art of spontaneity. What I find wonderful about this technique is that it is precisely the ‘mistake’ that ultimately becomes beauty and identity.
